On the X-men he was a fucking chad because the closest thing the X-men had to an "alpha" was Scott, but summers is a very intellectual guy (i mean, he uses trig to figure out how to bounce his optic blasts off shit to hit targets using mental math) and expects orders to be followed because they are logical, not because he is the alpha. Thats why Logan acted like the alpha in the xmen (even though scott could btfo him any time he wanted).
But as soon as Logan got on a team with Capt he goes beta, because not only is Cap logical, he's the mutherfucking chad of alphas who makes other alphas look like virgins. People follow caps plans because they're smart, sure, but Cap is the ubermensch, the perfection of man, and people will follow that to hell and back just because he IS. So of course Logan goes beta, but he's pissed because he never knew he was really a beta. So he tries to be alpha on Spiderman. Problem is, spiderman is a bug, and bugs don't have or recognize alphas, so it doesn't work. All logan gets on spiderman is acting like a bully, and Pete don't fuck with that shit. which shoves logan even further down the social ladder, which makes him act even more like a surly beta.
