>>101679066>>101679433>>101679521It's been said before but it bears repeating, this really stretches the definition of slice of life. The show isn't premised on fantasy like Svtfoe or SU, but feuding with sapient raccoons who's society parallels the characters and turning kids into zombies due to sleep deprivation is fantastical and well beyond "cute kids doing cute things."
The other aspect that makes SoL misleading is that the show follows a pretty standard narrative structure. Something like Azumanaga Daioh tended to just feature a number of vingettes, with no overarching conflict, while something Seinfeld featured numerous largely unrelated conflicts with low tension. Every episode of HSK is based around a single conflict and pretty much always follows a standard three-act structure.
The show is an episodic sitcom, with the premise being that three girls and their peers get into misadventures around their neighborhood. Yeah, that's not very informative, but when's the last time you had to explain the premise of The Simpsons to someone?
