- was a whiney asshole kid and unlikable for the first half of the movie
- had to be rescued several times
- was niave as fuck and almost died for it in the cantina
- couldn't use the force or jedi saber for the first movie despite training most of the time
- was only confident enough to use a blaster
- trained in between and in movies to be competent with the force but still got his ass beat
- only did one small thing under pressure with the force ( a pull on his saber)
- is a decent pilot which is established, and only beats teh deathstar with help from the rebels, and Obi's ghost
Rey:
- great at everything immediately
- Han praises her skills despite this being completely ooc for him
- literally never loses a fight
- her first fight against a sith lord and she whoops his ass without getting scratched
- instantly knows the ins and outs of the force
- somehow knows she can do a jedi mind trick without that being established
