It's Lapis's new home. In the finale now she pretty much says her home isn't homeworld nor that shitty old barn, but it's earth/the crystal gems.

The barn was just a place they could put the non-crystal gems til after the diamond confrontation.

Now we will get nu-crystal gems. With a new house and new designs for lapis and peridot. The new home is probably going to be much more of a dorm full of the gems rather then just steven and his mom's place.

They forget about side-characters and settings and then randomly bring them back in as a call-backs occasionally. Just look at Lars. Gem dorm is a shit idea, so that's probably what will happen. Ideally, Peridot would move in with Bismuth in her forge and help create modernized gem weapons and robot armor, like her barn olympics robot but even better now that she has more time and better resources.
