>>101523667This is a true complaint for the time; there was a strange homogenization of cartoonish humor around here, and while it wasn't too bad, it was lacking other shows with that classic Bugs Bunny type of humor. CLosest I can think of would be The Mask animated series, but just barely. And the laziness in vocals part he goes on about is true, but it had been since Hanna-Barbera Days.
>>101523687And this. I can really see why people would get annoyed by so many anime-influenced shows. It was everywhere at the time, specifically 2005 ish. It was kind of annoying.
>>101523911Nigga. Nigga, no. Just HELL no.
>>101523936I mean, I'm not gonna defend Totally Spies. That show was fuckin' weird. I don't know why I watched it growing up. No clue at all...
>>101523989Johnny Bravo was weird, and I'm not surprised to hear this from someone.
Honestly, many of the complaints I'm seeing here are reasonable: too much anime-inspired shit, too much of this same lamp-shading type of humor, and not enough respect towards the classics.
I'm sorry, OP, but I don't know if you're gonna get many reactions unless you really cherry pick. I mean, it takes a bit of understanding of how people felt at the time, but yeah, it's pretty common and I don't disagree too much. Very interesting nonetheless, though.
