Am I the only one actually kinda excited and hopeful for diamond-redemption? They've got cool designs and interesting powers, surprisingly deep characters, and it's not like villains being redeemed is a surprise given SU's track record and overall message.

The basic theme of Steven Universe is love, forgiveness and understanding so it makes sense for come round to whatever amounts to "the good side". What I want them to do is actually fix their mistakes. Remove the cluster, help Steven to fix corruption etc. and atone for what they've done. Peridot helped to save Earth after attacking it after all.

Other than fresh ground for kindergartens, you have warp hubs, bases to station your troops, and likely worlds focused on building things gems cannot create from themselves like spaceships and stations, plus some pre-war worlds that may have been focused on culture or societal functions gems have since stopped utilizing for that purpose

Gems are aliens that create other gems to be used for other purposes. Why even need an armada if you thought you was the only sentient beings in existence. They have no equal and no predators or anything like that. At least not that we know of.

They're like space termites all they do is mine planets to make more drones so they can grow their empire to mine more planets to make more drones. Why are SU posters so retarded? Most other cartoons only have to deal with waifu shitposting but SU gets flooded with idiots who lack even the slightest ability to understand the show. Rose was presented as perfect in the beginning but we later find out she's flawed, one of the themes of the show is that nobody is perfect. But for some reason the average SU watcher takes this to mean the Rose was wrong, either in her motivations or her executions. Completely missing the fucking point. Flawed doesn't equal evil.

Rose's plan wasn't perfect but it's better then any counter plan I've seen SU fans come up with. Of course the average SU fan is too stupid to actually come up with a plan to save the earth and will just mindlessly trash Rose's.

If this arc is focusing on gems close to Pink Diamond finding out the truth, and corrupted gems are also confirmed to be getting involved in Reunited, then Jasper may be unbubbled by Steven since he knows that Jasper's life and actions and current condition were all largely impacted by Pink and Rose and that she's suffering because of, he should feel like she deserves to know the truth just as much as anyone else since he's already shown that he wants to help her and felt guilty about not being able to in Earthlings, but I think something might go wrong and lead to her and the other corrupted gems getting lose.

Her reaction to the Pink Diamond revelation should be complicated, because she has a lot of shit she needs to work through and has even more reason to feel angry and conflicted over what Pink did to her than the others do.
They might be waiting to handle her development later on if it needs more time dedicated to it..

We know the two corrupted beast Jaspers our Jasper had were likely to be Biggs Jasper and Ocean Jasper, based on their color/design.
Bismuth lists off one of the original Crystal Gems as 'Biggs' (Jasper), as well as Snowflake (Obsidian) and Crazy Lace (Agate).

Maybe the Biggs Jasper we saw in the preview is the same Biggs Jasper Bismuth remembers, so she tries to free her before Steven can stop her.

The weakest part of the entire war story is the Diamonds pulling a corruption nuke out of their asses that gave the Crystal Gems a pyrrhic victory, because the plot demanded that only a remnant of the Crystal Gems survived to current day, Rose's strategy is one of the most realistic parts of the story.

The connection to her fellows, and more importantly, the realization that she's so much like the other Prime Amethysts in terms of personality seems to have grounded her and made her feel less like an outcast. That's actually pretty subtle.

At this point, I kinda want Lapis to be defiant until the very end.
She's just completely incapable of accepting things as they are. She can't stand that everyone is just okay with the whole Rose=PD fiasco. She still can't let go of the past and her trauma, of everything that's happened to her because of the CGs, Diamonds, Bismuth and Jasper. Maybe she'll blindly lash out at everyone in rage because she wants to make them feel what she's felt all this time, to show that it's not okay.
Steven ultimately tries to talk her down but she still won't give. In the end she tells him that it'll never be okay for her and she just leaves forever. Nothing more after that.
Would it fit her character?

that's what she did by forcing jasper to stay in malachite and using her has a living stress ball for months, she directed all the pent up rage she had towards the people who used her in the past onto jasper because she wanted to make someone feel how she felt by trapping and punishing them in the worst way possible
afterwards, nobody cared about how that mindbroke jasper, so they told her to go fuck herself which lead to her getting herself corrupted, while steven was going out of his way to cheer lapis up and then treating her like dindu when she confessed to using jasper to take her anger out on and enjoying it

steven and peridot have stuck their necks out for lapis and spent a long time going out of their ways to provide her with a home and constant source of comfort, but she's too selfish to risk anything for them in return when they need her help and is willing to abandon them at the drop of a hat, and guess what? steven still only wants her to be happy and continues to try to help her anyways
lapis needs to fucking suck it up because she's not special, every other gem has gone through rough shit in the past that they've had to get over, and she's been being given more helping hands and chances to get better than anyone could ask for, she should be grateful towards the crystal gems and steven for that

Now whether or not the show will execute that properly (like they're failing to execute "Peridot is living at the Temple again") is currently irrelevant. Lapis literally just flew back to Homeworld. She has some form of warp travel ability as seen in her most recent episode.

Also distance clearly means nothing to Gem warp tech, but Lars won't be getting back to Earth yet because said warps are still broken.

Why though? The only reason they were separated is because they found out about the situation with PD/Rose... but the reason they got together in the first place (their second fusion) was all on their own terms.

What I HOPE comes out of this is that Ruby and Sapphire learn that they can be apart but still be together/in-love/whatever. I always wanted to learn more about them as individuals, but every time we saw them it was always in the style of "here's a little about how they act but in the end they both really just want to be garnet again". It was especially annoying in the baseball episode where they kept flirting and acting like they were in a huge rush to fuse again. Maybe now they'll stop spazzing out whenever a situation calls for unfusing.
