What is with the state of modern cartoons being mostly snowflake rainbow tumblr barf "quirky" type shit? I wouldnt have a problem with the style if they were actually good but they're all the same , trying too hard to be clever and random, the equivalent of the high school "touch my butt and buy me pizza" thots. Regular show seemed to be the last show that had a trace of the classic cartoon network style in it, gumball was good but recently some of the characters and the constant "HEY GUYS INTERNET/ANIME REFERENCE" and *insert smartass comment from gumball here* jokes have become insufferable.

What keeps you interested in these shows? What do you find unique about them ? What is their redeeming quality?
Cause i really dont get it
