Instead of having a true blend of Gorillaz’s work where all the songs fit together, we got a bunch of different artists whining about trump in their own way featuring the Gorillaz as a back up singer. Not to mention they have tackled politics in their albums before, but they were always subtle and they focused on the music more than the message. Here they tried to do the opposite. The music isn’t bad in any way, its just that it doesn’t flow together nor does it sound like Gorillaz. It sounds more like a compilation album of various Singles connected by Alburn’s voice in the background.
That being said, I’m glad they decided to forgo this for their new album, Gorillaz ain’t about this. It’s about the music and animation.
