Realistically speaking only an idiot would try handling doom like that, it's just fetish wish fulfillment that adds nothing beyond fetish wish fulfillment while undermining the original vibe of the character.
Making a serious character "cute" is just what people do when they want to screw that character but don't actually like the real character, so they pile a bunch of traits they do like on top of the character making them cute, whole removing any resemblance to the actual character in the process.
In the cases where the motivation isn't sexual it's usually just the equivelant of turning the character into a puppy or something, which is still an inappropiate move for a character we want people to take seriously.
Do to all that suggesting someone make a serious female character behave in a cute way is a terrible suggestion.
it directly undermines her character, to have a female character that just suffered the same grueling battle all the guys did suddenly pop up and be cutesy for the amusement of the audience is just tacky.
You might as well replace her with a puppy.
