>>101233153Hi there!
Humor, like any kind of creative entertainment, takes a lot of practice. Some naturally funny people might not immediately make good stand-up comedians or comedy writers.
I had Josef and Grail there as joke testers throughout IH and if it didn't make them (and myself) laugh then I'd rewrite the thing. It got easier as time went on.
Translating your real-life humor to a comic will definitely take practice. Just give it a try! If it doesn't get the reaction you want, then keep trying. And try different approaches. Plus you have the fact that it's a cartoon on your side. Use visual gags to add some umph. Exaggerate your real-life humor if you need to. It's what I did! Pasqualo of IT HURTS was just me exaggerating all the shitty things I hate about myself, haha.
One thing that helped me is having a friend I could trust and that I respected creatively to give me tips and coach me if I needed it. Support is good. You don't need to lone wolf your art. :)
Anyway I'm rambling. I wish you the best of luck! <333
