Azrael makes more sense then Jessica Cruz from the meta stand point, being a above human martial artist. He also comes with two free dynamics having an AI in his head like cyborg and enjoying philosophy like Darksied. Then you have Jessica "anxiety" Cruz going into new space with one person shes interacted with. The cast fits Sejic's art though.

I really thought they'd reduce her to showing up every once in a blue moon. I'm pleasantly surprised that she's stuck around and gotten plenty of focus since she debuted.

DC has been nothing but disappointment lately. Rebirth was mediocre with the exception of two titles. New Age of Heroes were bad except for Silencer. All the Snyder events have been awful.

I think JPV would work fine as a mix between science and magic in a medieval vest. He still is gene augment but his body only exist asba vessel for Azrael, who fought for Order since centuries. His entire family had this purpose. His suit of sorrow is one hand a mystical medieval armor doubling his already inhuman speed and strength and in the other hand a high-tech bulletproof kevlar suit. The same deal with his sword, one is an ancesteral artifact and the other is a mono-molecular weapon.

Probably not, especially with Darkseid there as a full teammate and not just a one off. When you include a villain like that into the group you run into the Dr. Smith problem, you either have to ger rid of him or else everyone on the team is an idiot, or you have to make him so ineffectual and buffoonish that he loses all menace.
