You mean the king of the lowest common denominator whose two most financially successful movies were also his worse. I mean Avatar was literally just every original idea, theme or trope he ever had in all his other movies ham-fisted into a single mess and gussied up with uncanny special effects which will age like sour milk in the coming years. And Titantic is so 90s in retrospect it fucking hurts. It's right up there with Dances with Wolves in terms of VHSs you're garanteed to find in garage sales.
I think he honestly feels threatened by Cape films seeing them steal the tenuous thunder he once had over a movie market where almost nothing worth seeing ever came out. He's seen in 2017 how ever other major motion picture that would have made mad bank years past under-perform in the wake of Cape films, which for all their mediocrity, are still leagues beyond what Hollywood typically puts out. I think he's scared that the market he once knew is changing and that what he has to bring to the table may not be enough anymore.>>101085120
If the DCEU had good movies it would have done well all the same, movie goers obviously wanted to give it a shot based on how MoS and BvS did despite their divisive receptions.
