Tbh, I think it's funny that the Captain Marvel suit has fallen into the same exact trap as Spider-Man's original design, where blue shading on black sections was mistaken for actual blue. The thigh-highs are just a weird contrivance that don't make too much sense if you think about them hard enough. They belong in the 70s.
Kris Anka's streamline of the McKelvie design is fine, but I think that piping and pouches and other "realistic" design elements belong in the movies, not in the comics. And I get that he tried to quash the misinterpretations of Carol's new hair-helmet worked by chopping her hair off, but he also got rid of the helmet by doing that, which was really dumb.
