the thing is the ship teasing for Goliath and Elisa is pretty subtle initially, so assuming that a Live Action movie would mostly be covering Awakening parts 1 through 5 it wouldn't need much focus

I really wish Gargoyles would've focussed on that, rather than constantly bringing in more mythological elements and eventually all of Weisman's billion spin-off ideas. The core concept is really cool and it got dragged down by a bunch of other elements that made the gargoyles themselves far less special.

The billion spinoff pitches were something Michael Eisner encouraged. Like Disney was considering buying Marvel back in the 90s, but Eisner went "Screw that, we can make up our own superhero universe" and told the Gargoyles crew go nuts with ideas.

Honestly, the spinoffs would be the best way to revive the Gargoyles universe. Do something like Gargoyles 2198, which requires little exposition regarding the previous show, a new cast of characters, and a new setting.

I'd watch every new episode as it airs, but the problem is that it's a struggle to prove there's an audience for it and to find where to even put it.

What I'm saying is that I don't trust Hollywood, especially Jordan "subtlety of a brick" Peele, with allowing Lexington to stay a character and be gay. The entire focus will be his sexuality, not a proper balance. One extreme to another.
