>Hurr durr you superheroes suck because you don't solve "the world's real problems"

I hate it when writers pull this card. Superheroes don't live in the real world, they live in a world where Supervillains, Aliens, monster and planetary/universal/multiversal annihilation attacks ARE real-world problems from their perspective.
When you have a character in a comic say something like this, you are basically admitting and drawing attention to the fact that this is a fictional story. You are actively breaking immersion and making your characters look like ungrateful retards.
Not to mention that superheroes do in fact deal with "real world problems" all the time anyway, let's not forget that crime and terrorism are also problems in the real world.
