And when the GG at least pinpointed exactly where and what, then there was a good reason why Krolia left (I mean, in this case she wouldn't be the only one to be taken to some underground facility and get operated).
This way Keith and McCree were safe, yet something must've happened that made the GG realize the latter was hiding something hence why he disappeared. That or McCree abandoned Keith and is on the run for the former's sake.
Also good thing Keith ended up human looking, though why isn't he looking like an actual hybrid akin to Lotor or his ex-generals? Dunno. Galra genetics are bizarre.
