>>>100731353(You)>I love your taste so can you help me out with the translation of those french books? Are they a retelling of the Trojan War or something? I love classics retold as comics and would love to get my hands on morelol, no. Lanfeust of Troy is a fantasy comic that (I believe) was responsible for the huge BD revival in France. Ever since the times of Tintin, Asterix, etc.; some good stuff came out, but it was overall bland. Then Lanfeust de Troy came out, and a new fresh wind of BD came out. I recommend the first 8 volumes of Lanfeust de Troy, maybe Lanfeust des Étoiles if it has been translated and liked it; and Trolls de Troy (first 4 volumes).
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lanfeust_of_TroyThe only thing is that it worked so well that the author/editor started milking the franchise and it went downhill after those 3 arcs I find.
Also be aware that it is highly comedic and relying on puns, so I don't know how good any English translation might be.
As for classics in comic form, check out:
- Ring of the nibelung
- Murena (story of Nero in ancient Rome in shelf 4)
http://www.europecomics.com/serie/murena/- Gilgamesh by Jens Harder; haven't read it yet, but if it's anything like Alpha and Beta, then it'll be the shit!
>>>100731376(You)>also nice Hugo Pratt. And I can't read your last shelf but really nice tastePratt is Da Bomb! The rest is this shelf is a bit of random shit, nothing really of note except Maybe Antares? It's the second cycle of Aldebaran. The art sucks ass; but the story, OMG, it's well told, good character development, original, excellent... But it hasn't been translated in English as far as I know, which is a shame... Maybe fan translation?
