>>100582470Anon, the issue with the "Calart style" is the fact that it has nothing to do with Calarts
Like the fact that SU, OKKO and Gumball not having relation with Calart, the fact that Calarts DOESN'T teach an speciphic style for the students to draw (they come up woth their own style), the fact that the students there mainly draw whatever is popular at the time anyway (like the Disney style in the 80s, the Hartman/Genndy of the 90s), and most often than not their actual animated works as seem on their blogs has no semblance to said style. To not mention the fact that said term actualy erases the responsability of the studio and executives - that are the ones that aprove these things and usualy push artists to do whatever is popular at the moment (and have been trying to make the production cheaper by making a more simplistic and uniform art style )
What makes people use similar designs is mainly:
>fad>executives pursuing fadsOften the show's bibble will also look different from the actual show
SCHOOLS DON'T TEACH AN ART STYLE. They don't have classes that say that "you can just draw a nose this way", and its dumb to believe that artists just have ONE art style, Ian from OKKO used to draw for Venture Brothers for example.
