Hell, most of us were still massive nerds. I obviously was the comic and art guy (hence why I am still here), our star quarterback had two Everquest subscriptions for his myriad of characters, and the most popular girl in school was the local student journalist.
Truth is, people don't want to be around assholes, especially as you get older and into your junior and senior years. And people who gather the most attention are usually individuals who are more inclined to fight to be successful in life.
