Big cinematic universes are not easy and probably more trouble than they're worth and the bubble will eventually burst when the public gets tired of them, but they really dropped the ball hard on this. Not quite as bad as Universal did with their Dark Universe.
They have some names beyond simply big, all the proper ingredients, more than enough material to adapt, but somehow shit the bed and hard. Feels like they tried to rush things a bit too fast and expected the hero names alone to carry the movies to box office gold instead of actually doing proper planning and finding the write creative team and voice for their movies.
