Pepper, Happy, Jen as his lawyer, stuff like that. As time goes on, he gets more and more obsessed with Project Prometheus, like in Heroes Reborn, which is the Iron Man armor. He still gets captured in the ME, but that comes much later in my timeline. Point is, that him suiting up isn't so much a result of the incident, it just came about earlier. And he doesn't suddenly do a 180, he remains the same power-hungry, enigmatic guy as before.
As time goes on, the Iron Man's impact is felt across the world, which spawns several copycats, changes the market and revolutionizes the arms race and the world of consumer electronics, even. From then on, it becomes more focused on internal/external politics and less so on "slice of life" office drama. Ty Stone for example, I'd turn into a Nemesis (Millar) pastiche. Doom would serve as the dark mirror. Mandarin would be the Uber-Foe. Fin Fang Foom would serve as the Dragon in the Knight vs Dragon symbolism. The more the series goes on, the more we'd travel down the conspiracy rabbit hole.
Essentially, just think of a mix beetween Mad Men, Deus Ex and Metal Gear. Put that into a blender, add some Vertigo/Wildstorm-Era Ellis, and you're right on the money as far as the general feel and worlds go. It'd most certainly be character driven, and while, if it was a tv-show, it'd have those anime-tier /m/echa fights, ultimately it'd be about the people in them. I'd give Stane, Hammer and AIM a lot more attention. I have some character descriptions, and certain storyline ideas too,
