Any character or concept where it's alien in every sense of the word; hard to comprehend, and teetering on madness itself. The deep sea aquatic imagery is also a plus I suppose. For example, The Trench in Aquaman could be considered Lovecraftian

What drives me nuts is when people try to humanize fucking aliens. It defeats the entire purpose of the concept does it not? It's like when Bendis went into detail about the origins of the symbiotes. The more you familiarize yourself with an alien, the less "alien" it actually becomes.

I'm actually amazed Marvel never explored a cosmic horror comic with Shuma. Even a mini. You'd have thought with how well received Thanos Imperative was, they'd try their hand at an actual story.
