The next Star Wars show has been announced. Why isn't /co/ talking about it?

According to the description on Star Wars main site the show will be an ''''anime'''' inspired animated series following the events prior to The Force Awakens following characters keeping track of the going ons of the First Order. There will indeed be familiar faces like Poe Dameron and Captain Phasma appearing in the show.

So, what are your thoughts?

Because because it’s hard to get hyped for every little announcement when Disney hasn’t done anything spectacular with the franchise in three years.

They done a terrible job of it, that's for fucking sure. We know how it ends, the First Order obliterates the New Republic with a giant planet sized Death Star. They also amassed tens of thousands of recruits and have multiple ships with one being bigger than a Super Star Destroyer.

What story is there to tell? We know from sequel trilogy book that there were First Order spies/those sympathetic with the FO within the NR Government.

The end of the series is just the main characters either dying or saving their beloved portion of the galaxy and leaving the rest to rot.

A literal nobody stormtrooper with shock sticks that shouted "Traitor!" at Finn was more of a fan favorite than Phasma.

The thing that really gets me though, is that the absolute worst parts of Rebels and the nu-trilogy is the fucking space ship fighting. Rian Johnson also apparently had a hard on for ww2 fighter plane shit and used that as an excuse for making that goddawful bombing run mission at the beginning of his movie.

The reason why it just doesn't fucking work is because watching people siti in a vehicle and exclaim loudly before something explodes is just fucking boring. The best parts of any Star Wars show or movie is when the characters are on the ground actually doing shit. And it sounds like this new show is mainly going to be about people in ships shooting at each other which already sounds boring as fuck.
