You're wrong anon. Someone like Ava Duvernay or Jordan Peele would pull shit like that, but Ryan Coogler is above that. Ryan just brought most of his crewmembers from his smaller movies, Fruitvale Station and Creed. Ludwig Goransson, who won the Oscar for the music, is white. Rachel Morrison, who did cinematography, is white. They didn't go with Ruth Carter for costumes because she's black, they picked her because she's a great Oscar-nominated costume designer and the MCU's costumes are so eye-bleedingly terrible that Coogler was desperate to inject some distinctive flair into the movie. I think it's the only MCU film to have a truly memorable look and feel that can stand on its own (shitty CG-I notwithstanding).
I agree with a lot of what Anthony Mackie is saying, but Black Panther is not a good example . Most of its annoying wokeness is because of the critical and audience reception to it, not the movie itself which is martial arts Game of Thrones in Africa. From interviews I've seen with him, a lot of the perceived importance of the movie came to Coogler after it had been made.
