All they had to do to make this a great event without being as generous as Halloween:>add a Spider box for random 1-3 Silk/Miles/Gwen/(and if they wanted to make them rarer: Peter and Ock as well)>make big lucky box give level 5 exp chips>remove 7k gold or at least drastically lower the RNG for it, (you shouldn't be going "dammit" most of the time, just some of the time to keep you on edge)
But any one of those would at least have made it good.
Go ahead and lower the token count to 1k and make it so you can't just 6 star a character during the event, that's no problem. It almost felt too easy and if you didn't want the characters, the gold you got for selling the tokens was absurd. Both of which were things that allows you to circumvent two key resource grinds of the game. But releasing 3 new characters with no way to get their bios right before an event that's mostly a copy-paste of a previous event where the 3 characters released at the time were the reward, while making most of the new rewards either fairly useless/mediocre or literally valued less than if you had just sold the tokens outright (getting 7k gold as the majority of chests) is kinda bullshit.
It's like everything about the lead-up to the holiday event was giving the impressions that it was going to be like the halloween event then being notably worse ontop of 3 paywall characters, no more 3* BW, and the ISO-8 crisis all happening, with NM also
Shit makes me really hope this next update is awesome because its got me worried for the future if this isn't just a misstep. The core game is still great, but continued, positive support is what has me invested. Not upping the grind and crystal drain.
'Course we've gone through much worse updates so I'm not too worried. Just apprehensive.
