The original rights were with Sony, Sony fucked up and made the Emogi movie, gave Sonic to Paramount, meaning 99% of creative vision and control fell entirely on Paramount, not SEGA. It was only because Paramount backpadeled hard as fuck after the entire planet told them to fix the fucking shit Sonic design did they hire a SEGA employee to fix their shit in.
Same applies to ShArchie. It was entirely American made and only "endorced" by SoA because they wanted that comic to exist. That isn't the HEAD of SEGA, which is SoJ exclusive. SoA and SoE are just branches of the big head SoJ. Otherwise you're saying Sonic the Comic and Fleetway Sonic is ALSO canon and official. Which it fucking ISN'T. It has nothing to do with Sonic. Just a fanon version of it, no different from the Paramount movie Sonic.
