>>118749672I originally tried to go to college to do social work with troubled youth, but the entire education was dedicated to memorizing useless names and dates, and being told how broken and underfunded the whole system is. I proceeded to switch over to trying to help with kids in the criminal justice system and worked under people who took in juveniles that they didn't have the qualifications to help or oversee in the name of profiting off of them.
I had a breakdown over the whole thing and went back to dead-end farm work. I felt useless to everyone and everything, so I gave up for the sake of something simple.
