I find my interest in cartoons waning. Netflix is the only one doing different shit (Green Eggs & Ham, Hilda, Love Death Robots, Midnight Gospel, Klaus, Kipo) while it just seems like Nick, CN, and Disney have heavily streamlined themselves into their own studio mold. Nick is constantly looking for the next Spongebob, CN has that same thin-line, bean face "Adventure Time/Regular Show" look in all their shit, and Disney is molding all their stories to mirror Gravity Falls. I know studios had a primary style, but they still had other shows allowing for experimentation.
Not everything on Toon Disney was ducks or movie cartoons. Sometimes, you got Gargoyles, Filmore, or Kim Possible. CN wasn't just sharp, UPA-stylized shows; they also had Ed Edd n Eddy, Cow & Chicken, Robot Jones, Sheep in the Big City, etc. And fuck, Nickelodeon was a beacon of variety in kids cartoons, both visually and comedically.
Now, I dunno. It's like, if I wasn't over the hill for Gravity Falls, there's a 80% chance I'm going to be bored with whatever is on DisneyXD. These networks just feel stagnant in their content.
