Pages for popular shows become far too bloated. The fandom for MLP was so large at one point, that page is practically novel length just based on them forcing definitions.
Speaking of which, why do they try so hard to fit certain shows in with certain tropes? Off the top of my head, I recall them tagging Legend of the Galactic Heroes with the "outgrown such silly superstitions" trope when there's a fairly important character that had to join the military because his family believed him to be the reincarnation of another soldier. I feel like they just saw that one of the plot points was the characters fighting insane cultists and thought "Oh, well everyone must be against all religious belief in this show!". I thought it was bad enough that people skim TV Tropes to get an opinion on a show, but now it looks like TV Tropes is full of skimmers as well!
Another one I recall annoying me is the "gratuitous language" trope, as they will often mark regular uses of those language by foreigners as gratuitous just because it is not their native language. For example, any non-German speaking German is "gratuitous German" even if it was executed perfectly, any Japanese is gratuitous just because it is spoken by a westerner, et cetera.
Also, the "no such thing as notability" policy really hurts them, as I used to go to a forum and a guy got his feelings hurt by the members, edited the article on the site we went to out of his rage, and it was allowed to stay up. Guess the no real life examples thing doesn't apply to "internet backdraft" or whatever.
I'd say they are making at least some progress since they figured out that "this character has a large ass" is not really a trope by itself and they also removed Troper Tales, but I feel like the entire site needs a purge so they can start from scratch.
