>>95787660>Using a poser model to "reference" the whole scene, even if you manage to make it work by drawing expressive faces and putting your own spin on it, like Janin, you're a fucking tracer. And this is coming from someone that like Janin most of the time (no idea what he's getting at with Jimenez).Pretty much this.
I use Daz Studio for reference material. I have been for the past 6 years. Is it perfect? Not necessarily (you still have to remember fundamentals and whatnot), but it's all in finding a good balance, albeit with a bit more emphasis on adding your own personal touches to a render/scene when you plop it down in Photoshop or Clip Studio Paint or whatever.
Example is a drawing I did for a /co/ drawthread last year. Daz as the foundation, and I built up on that from there.
It especially comes in handy as a foundation (such as it is) for buildings, backgrounds, vehicles, etc. But now I'm seeing people on other boards mention they've seen a Stonemason set in a couple mainstream comics now, which is surreal.
But the people who straight up use the "comic" line art filter in Poser or LineRender9000 (
https://www.daz3d.com/linerender9000) in Daz? That's pure, unbridled laziness, IMHO.
