>>98190158> She's given about every power-up a Mary Sue could ask for (hindering the little butterball's own plausible character growth)
She might have unrealistic abilities but she doesn't have a laundry list of powers that could potentially nullify most stakes or consequences. She can't raise the dead, she can't heal everyone, she doesn't have bubbles that can defend her from a shit ton of attacks or environmental conditions, she doesn't have a healing factor, and she can't talk her way out of practically every problem. And not every problem in the series is resolved by her or surrounds/is based in her or her mom's legacy.
More OP than she should be? Yes.
Worse than Steven? Hell no. In fact she gets her OP shit directly and indirectly because of Steven.
You said it yourself with >problem is being solved by fusing Steven>FUSING WITH STEVEN>STEVEN>he's not even the main character anymore.
What? Even based on the second to last bomb it was entirely from Steven's perspective. Connie was barely in it physically. The whole point was that Connie wasn't around or even talking to Steven causing him to mope around. She was more of a plot device to make Steven sad/mad.
