Oh its all in good fun. The good thing about being a massively creative autist writer is that somewhere along you start realizing most creatives do this and don't share anything about it. It IS really, really cringy to anyone with a slight hint of self awareness. But that's only because it seems like really shitty wish fulfillment fantasy. I like using it as a starting point for writing, or playing around with how an idea would feel, or be portrayed.
I spend hours and hours researching tropes and crafting narratives and stories that AREN'T as cringy, but I still like the good ol cheesy stuff once in awhile too.
Plus, I didn't even have enough text left to write out the nuclear cringe bomb that is the SHIPPING YOUR CHARACTER WITH THE MAIN CHARACTER EXTREMELY PROFOUNDLY CRINGY MARY SUE AUTISM TROPES
I guarantee you Nefcy has done EXACTLY that at one point in her life. Hell, Star literally could have been her OC from Sailor Moon for all we know. I mean... she is Starfan13 ffs. I can't see how that character isn't in some way a representation of her younger self.
