Is this your first piece of fiction?
Willing suspension of disbelief is mainly about internal consistency and improbability.
Anyone will accept that a lightning bolt gave Barry superspeed just like anyone will accept that a Wizard in a fantasy movie can teleport and cast spells, etc.
Suspension of disbelief is broken when established rules are broken or when improbabilities pile up.
For example: I can accept that character X is a super-hacker that can ignore all real-life logistics to accomplish what is basically magic. I cannot accept a character guessing a complicated password in one try.
That I have to explain how suspension of disbelief works in fiction is absolutely ludicrous, though I guess now I understand the kind of people who've stuck with this show
