Nobody ever really talks about it, especially not animation fans. Maybe the show just started a little too late, in a decade where family sitcoms were becoming old news (
>>113308719 elaborated on this pretty well). Rick and Morty was able to turn that family sitcom cliché on its head by constantly subverting the common family dynamics within a heavy sci-fi gimmick. Since then, shows like Bob's or Duncanville are pretty much doomed to be overlooked.
It still surprises me that 20th Century was even willing to make a feature film adaptation.
