>>112483541>Maybe a decade ago liking cartoons past a certain age wasn't socially acceptableI graduated high school in 2010 and even then, it was still socially acceptable. I found a lot of kids who were into Fullmetal Alchemist, Invader ZIM, Danny Phantom, Samurai Jack, South Park, Family Guy, Aqua Teen, Avatar (Especially fucking Avatar, Jesus Christ, people wouldn't shut up about it), Gurren Lagaan, and so on.
Whenever a new Pokemon game came out, during lunch break people went into the library to trade and battle. Some kids taught me how to play Yu-Gi-Oh in the 10th grade. Hell, my DS got stolen because it was so common for people to bring it into school to play Pokemon. I even knew one girl who was obsessed with Johnny Test.
I feel like these people must've gone to school in places with a population of 20 to not run into other kids who were at least into ONE animated thing. I think what's far more likely is that these kids were incredibly anti-social and didn't even try to make friends with people and in their minds, they grew up thinking people hated them.
