I respect Doug for what he's been trying to do for all these years. I don't even think he went to shit immediately after coming back to NC back in 2013. His skits weren't too distracting originally, and he still had a lot of ideas. Some of his most insightful reviews come from that era, like the MoS one. I liked some of the silly musical numbers he did, like Fucking Love Christmas. Even the whole "refilming films with shitty cosplay" idea didn't bother me all that much. That could've been great for avoiding copyright. But as time went on, I felt like Doug just ran out of ideas. Shitting out new 30-minute long videos on a weekly basis will do that to you. He has no time to properly analyse a movie or to think of actual jokes anymore. I guess I don't hate him, but his reviews are... okay-ish at best and cringe-inducing at worst nowadays. I just stopped watching him after the Tentacolino review. This was one of his most anticipated reviews ever, and at the end of the day, it just seemed really lazy how he was grasping at straws like "hurr a villain attacks them because he hates their boat color what a shitty movivation" when the movie, in fact, had much more insane stuff to offer. It had a couple of funny moments, but essentially, not even close to his original animated Titanic videos.
