Look dude, I'll ship Starco to the grave, but we might as well face the music here.
This ship is going down.
Everyone was saying how Jarco would be just a temporary distraction, how Starco is still "obviously" the endgame, etc. After Bon Bon most of these voices fell silent. Many here who liked Starco or were sitting on the fence admitted to jumping to Jarco now. Because like it or not, Jackie and Marco are good for each other. She isn't a bland background character anymore, and he's been after her for a decade and now he's living the dream. There is no way they are going to break them up without making one of them (or Star) look like an asshole or act OOC.>but muh Starco build-up
Sure, Star and Marco truly have great chemistry, and have developed a very close relationship over the course of the series, but alas its only platonic. We want it to turn into something else, but no-one ever promised that that will actually happen.>but muh stroytelling
This show is known to subvert tropes and expectations. Tons of other shows having the male and female MCs get together in the end or pulling a Romantic False Lead doesn't mean SVTFOE will do the same.>but muh Nefcy and her husband
It's a nice anecdote, but nothing more. The characters are loosely inspired by real people, but their relationships don't have to be. Hell, Nefcy outright gloated at us with that "sorry not sorry" tweet.
I'm not jumping ship, because I grew too attached to Straco and you can't just tell your heart to feel differently. Jarco is cute and perfect, but it can't replace THE Cute and Perfect. But let's face it, canon-wise, it is slowly but surely killing Starco, and we're going down with it.
