Giving toddlers something to do in the years before vidya and widely accessible movies and shows, while easing them into reading actual books. Sadly, most capefags never grew out of their arrested development and the entire genre is just a perpetually recycled garbage dump. Capeshit has literally nothing to offer because>settings are mostly "the world outside your window" except for generic "space" which still coems back to "Newah Yarhk">no endings>no growth>reheated plots because villains can never go away>reversion back to the most popular iteration due to "muh">[current day] trends and politics beng inserted at all times making the sliding time scale a nightmare>characters change their voice due to the influx of writers>quality of writing is worse than the average genre fiction novel
Really, there's no enjoyment to be had past characterfagging. Everyone can enjoy some Fantasy or Sci-Fi or whatever, because they can get lost in it. But Capeshit doesn't have that. And while you can watch a show set in "Newah Yarhk" with normal people, you watch it for the performances and writing. Capeshit has a couple of stories, a couple of types of characters and it's all recycled. That's all there is to it.
TL;DR Grow up, remember fondly those two runs you read as a kid, that edgy title you read as a teen, hold the "idea" of a superhero or two close to your heart, and be done with it. That's the way it should be done.
