What do you mean by "worth while"? Makes lots of money? There are plenty of works with a female protagonist that do that. Critically acclaimed (by critics that matter, meaning men who are not SJW)? There are plenty of works with a female protagonist that do that. Liked by audiences? Same. All three? Same.
But first you have to pin down the goalpost of "worth while" otherwise we'd be chasing your ambiguous "worth while" forever.
