>>127404832What killed Owl House is timing, it would've been a hit if it came out in the mid-2010s around the time of GF and other similar shows, and it would've been far more successful as a streaming original show in the future 2-3 years from now when streaming fully takes over.
However it got wedged into this awkward transitory period where it debuts on kids' TV but Disney doesn't care for TV numbers anymore, and the non-kids audience who wants to watch the show doesn't watch TV anymore, but can't wait a month or two for the streaming release since it's a serialized story with spoilers, just unfortunate timing all around.
Of course I'm only talking about a hypothetical scenario and potential success, if what Dana says about the exec is true, then no amount of success would've saved it from an early cancellation (unless the exec wasn't hired yet or gets fired into the future).
