One of the things I hate about Monkey Kid is a double standard it revealed within Lego. Whenever Lego designs something for western audiences, it is castrated. It is safe, it is simple, it is marked for older ages than it would appeal to. Whenever we get to see concept art and hear ideas, we realize that the toylines intentionally had sensation and awesomeness removed from them. It's not a matter of impracticality, aside from possible copyright infringement, almost every suggestion we've seen could be done.
Then Lego makes a line for the chinese market and it's all borderline 90s edge and "health hazards" everywhere. It also gets a show too, with more serious animation. Motion is more sudden, designs are sharper. I hate this intentional soification of western product. MK proves Lego can is purposefully not doing better.
