There is an old-time Wikipedian who I reported for spamming eight "external links" to the same blogspam website and nothing was done. Why? Because he's part of the inner circle. Eight links. To the same website. Which is nothing but recycled content that adds nothing to the article. Gets a pass. Meanwhile some newbie might mistakenly add a link to a blogspam website and get banned indefinitely.
