She even went out of her way to say she didn't think Asuka and Kensuke were intimate because Asuka still had the body of a teen and didn't think Kensuke was the kind of guy who'd take advantage of her like that. You can say she's in denial because she doesn't want Asuka to be defiled in that way or whatever, but to this day, she doesn't think they were intimate pre-Shin Eva.
