Been using Twitter. I don't mind it so much because it's been encouraging artists and non-artists to communicate more. Like I'll commission a character, and then the artist and I will get a response like, "Holy shit! Who's that character? This is so hot!"

I've been trying to be more social. Compliment artists. Tell people "I know, right", when they talk about guys they want to fuck.

Only thing I miss from Tumblr was a huge collection of Ted Kord as Blue Beetle porn that was deleted when the artist deleted his Tumblr long before any of this happened.

Instagram DOES delete porn accounts from time to time. Namely drawn porn. All the accounts I follow on there have to link to other accounts.

There is no replacement for Tumblr. The only thing that site didn't have perfect was a search engine.

Are there any guides to using twitter to view artist's work? It's frustrating to have to go through food tweets and irrelevant shit- I mean I'm all for artists doing whatever they want on their profiles but twitter is the worst place to search for specific shit, especially when artists use vague tags.

I would highly recommend TweetDeck. It allows you to sort what you want to view. You can have your main timeline, your mentions, your likes, your posts, and even individual timelines showing a specific user's posts or a specific word search.

Rule 34 isn't a great option.
1. It doesn't provide much support or communication for artists. Even worse, the artists can't control what gets posted, even if it's stuff they don't want shared.
2. Horrible search engine. Want some Spider-Man porn? Search Spider-Man. Now enjoy your porn of Mary Jane, Black Cat, Spider-Woman, Gwen Stacey, Lucina, etc.
3. There's no 'follow' option. There's no way to keep up with certain subjects unless you actively continue to search the specific characters/subjects you want to see porn of. And the feeds into problem #2 as well.

Even if we get a new blogger site, everything is deleted. Artists that were quite good but not so famous are lost forever now, since they won't bother starting again, and their content is gone too. Some artists had everything achieved in their tumblr and now that it is deleted they can't get it anymore. Others are just to lazy to reupload everything on tweeter so we're fucked now.

Gosh, this sucks so much, I'm never going to find that Cullen fucking Solas again. It's gone forever and will only live in my mind.

I've always been paranoid of porn getting deleted so much that I've even saved pics I personally don't find that hot. My porn folders are a mess though outside of being separated into videos and pictures, so it takes a while to find my favorites. Anyways for 2d I actually go to tumbex and then act like tumblr never went down. I heard some time ago that pixiv was contemplating banning foreign, non-Japanese or asian accounts. With the foreign artists that are flocking there after the tumblr purge, I have a feeling they might be considering this again because of them not following site rules on censorship policies (no, a black bar is NOT enough in their eyes unless that black bar entirely covers the offensive stuff.. Just speculation on my part, though.

What I, and other artist I follow, do to get around the porn ban, is by using two accounts. One to host your picture and then tumblr. Just upload your picture to your host, then post a censored version on tumblr with the link to the original. BAM no problems. I'm waiting for the other artists to catch on.

I've also being doing this. Haven't been commissioning but I have been dropping more compliments because the Twitter/Pixiv/Pillowfort format somewhat encourages it more than Tumblr. Even got an artist I've loved for ages following me. It's weird socializing more with artists but I suppose it makes them feel better even if it makes me feel awkward. I just removed any nsfw-related tag on my posts on tumblr and it worked, no ban anymore as they have to manually verify everything. Tumblr is great because you can just jump to the artist archive and get all works at once. Pixiv is really great too and some tags have already been translated into english. Twitter sucks, you can't see many artworks at once and the image sizes are very small. After the tumblr purge, I started to use 4-chan again.
