I'd say so. I always see ships flop real hard once a character dies, worse if they both die. It's too much of a bummer to be trying to read/write/draw ship fluff of your faves and be confronted constantly with the brutal truths of existence.

basically any series that *isn't* the goddamn flagship representation of anime as a genre and concept for its era (like, for instance, banana fish) is very much subject to this phenemenon
