Strapped down like this, Ardyn pulls and pulls and pulls, the restraints cutting into his skin, digging into the flesh of his wrists and ankles. They’re almost instantly swapped out for soft ones, but he remains chained, so now his struggling has even less effect; he can’t break the bonds holding the cuffs to the bed, and neither can he break the cuffs.
They leave him like that for some time, and so Ardyn shouts to fill the silence. His voice is going out when someone finally enters the room?the man with the dark glasses from earlier. A chill crawls slowly across Ardyn’s skin as he approaches the table, two others following behind him, one pulling a large metal cart, items jangling about on its shelves.
Ardyn knows what this is. Necropsy, autopsy, vivisection, wherever he falls along the spectrum, this is what’s in store. He thrashes harder, tries to roll himself off the table, but firm hands on his shoulders and the cuffs keep him where he is.
