He's right, actually. Ranged has no inherent weaknesses, it's a straight upgrade to melee.
Especially in fights between two characters who aren't both tanks, the person who gets the first auto attack has a critical advantage, god forbid they get a second or a third before their opponent gets into range.
What this dumb boardposter fails to account for though is that Yasuo has T H R E E other counters to range baked into his kit.
Wind Wall on its own was never the problem, the problem is that Wind Wall is on the same kit as two separate dashes, both of which do damage, an innate shield, a ranged knockup, and DPS so high thanks to a second passive that it becomes burst when combined with his ultimate or the extra attack Q allows him to weave in.
The knockup is tied to the ult gapcloser so we'll count them as the same (even though they're often not), the shield is designed to mitigate enough damage to survive lane and soak the initial ranged damage as he gets into range in a fight, and his E is nearly inescapable.
Yasuo would need maybe one of those things in addition to Wind Wall in order to have a viable melee kit, however he has all of them.
