Yes, the game's already heading in that direction. And it would've headed in that direction a few years earlier if Overwatch actually turned out to be a good game rather than the piece of shit that it currently is.
Turns out nu-runes and Riot's silver balance team really were the Cataclysm-equivalent to League's downfall.
I think the most disappointing aspect of this though, is that Riot didn't do shit to expand the League IP in any substantial way during their fucking 9-year reign.>no spinoff games based around the League IP>no PVE mode to get people invested in the lore, or for people who wanted a break from the competitive PvP shit>no expansion on the lore through something like novels or an animated series>didn't even bother attempting to release their game on console or mobile>no maps skins or voice announcer packs to add some variety to the hundreds of games that people will play on summoner's rift or ARAM>unwilling to show support to their own streamers through Twitch Prime deals that offer free skins or rewards to players, like what Epic Games is doing with Ninja and Fortnite>took them ages to get basics like voice chat, a new client, a practice mode and so on - which is laughable
Among other things. Riot truly is a lazy and incompetent company at large.
