Properly misleading datamining could actually help get people interested in finding stuff in game. For example if they know there is some strange mob somewhere in the game but there's no mention where exactly it spawns people will be trying to find the proper zone codes for this shit.
Also, finding stuff in game even if it is known beforehand from datamining isn't that bad, just look how people find cut content in FROM's games and how it still manages to captivate people. Stumbling across strange chalice dungeons in Bloodborne, figuring out that one closed door and so on is still interesting if not a lot of people dedicate themselves to it.
