If this was the case then mmo's wouldn't have kept developing into the singleplayer experience direction outside of raids.
Literally nothing encourages social interaction outside of raids in "modern" mmorpgs nowadays.>Story?
Singleplayer progression till you get to the raid and then just press the queue buttong and clear it>Crafting?
Just buy from the marketplace or grind it yourself. Gone are the good old days of trading between players.>Levelling?
Just solo grind mobs in the world/quests and then press the queue for dungeon button>Guild?
Joins it usually for raiding or benefits (ghost member).
The most social interaction I've had in mmorpg's were on the Discords or teamspeak/Irc servers. Where we talk about other shit.
Fuck, even mil sims like Arma, Squad or light mil sims like Insurgency encourage more social interaction and teamwork.
